Sam mentors young people in the San Diego area and also serves as a board member for the Barrio Logan College Institute (BLCI) as part of these efforts. BLCI’s mission is to break the cycle of poverty by preparing underserved students to be the first in their families to go to college through after school programs that begin in the third grade and continues through college. Outside of work, Sam enjoys quality time with his wife, Gisela, and son, Santiago.
